Offshore wind operators are strengthening how they protect and coordinate activity around their assets as maritime disruption brings greater attention to offshore security. Through its established VTMS5 and OSEM platforms, Vissim brings surveillance and operational information into a shared offshore picture. Within VTMS5, operators can detect and track vessels, including targets not transmitting AIS, monitor activity around defined zones, receive configurable warnings, direct integrated cameras towards selected or alerted targets, and review recorded movements and sensor data during incident investigations. The platform can work with existing surveillance infrastructure and incorporate additional sensors according to each site’s operational and security requirements.
This direction reinforces the need for offshore wind operators to connect physical surveillance with the marine coordination processes already used to manage vessels, personnel and activity across their sites.
