Vissim awarded maritime domain surveillance contract in Thailand

The Marine Department of Thailand in Q1 2017 awarded a contract for the installation of a maritime domain surveillance system covering the upper Gulf of Thailand. The total project value is in the region of 77 million NOK (310 million THB). This makes it Vissim’s largest contract in the region to date.

The contract encompasses the second phase of the installation of a maritime domain surveillance system and includes five sites and a control centre, including integration with the existing phase one infrastructure. The scope of delivery includes the vessel traffic management, the port system, traffic analysis and training simulators.

Contract delivery will commence immediately and Vissim will provide both hardware and software for the installation, as well as engineering and project management. Research and Development, engineering and project management will be based at Vissim’s headquarter in Horten, Norway, while additional services will be provided on-site.
